Artist, Illustrator, and Teacher

I have been creating art for children and teaching my craft and writing to them for more 30 years. This venture has been full time for the past 6 years following my move to Windham, Maine from the Washington, D. C. area.

The places that I have lived and my role as a parent and teacher have greatly impacted this. I have lived in Scarborough and Topsham, Maine, Belmont, MA and Alexandria, VA.

My studio is in my home in Windham, Maine.

This home is one of the three homes that I have lived in that is considered an "antique".  Restoring these gems of other eras has been another creative endeavor.

My home in Windham is more than 200 years old. The mural in my dining room depicts homes in this area of that era. The artist's style, a previous owner, produced a rendering that is rather child like, colorful, and has magical quality.

I am working on a picture book Elephant's Passion for Fashion.

My art work has found its place in shows and in stores throughout New England.

A very memorable show and sale was one sponsored by Brentanos in Boston, MA. in Christmas 1979. Several of my original pictures and cloth toys of a few of my characters were entered.  Most of these pictures and all of the toys sold.

It is a joy to be creating my art for children again!  This is in a more focused way and in a way that reflects my long journey.
